A crucial meeting was held this Wednesday, June 12, 2024 in the Civil Status Hall of the Dschang Council, marking a decisive turning point for the city’s cooperative project. The meeting, chaired by Lord Mayor Jacquis Gabriel KEMLEU in the company of GIZ partners, highlighted the importance of collaboration for the economic and social development of internally displaced populations and host communities in the West region.

A commendable initiative for food self-sufficiency

Following a detailed presentation of the project’s Terms of Reference (ToR) by GIZ managers and technical partners, the Lord Mayor expressed his enthusiastic support for the initiative. He emphasized that the project was perfectly aligned with the council’s efforts to improve food supply and strengthen local self-sufficiency.

Technical Assessment and Outlook

In his capacity as President of Cameroon’s agri-food technical center, Lord Mayor KEMLEU carried out an in-depth assessment of the existing situation, focusing on the technical aspects of packaging. He emphasized the need to guarantee the availability of raw materials to prevent any risk of shortages.

Towards an Innovative Collaboration Model

The Lord Mayor also called for an effective and sustainable collaboration model, essential to the success of the cooperative project. He encouraged the partners to consider strategies that foster synergy between the various players involved.
